As our chief marketing and communications officer, Joanne oversees all marketing strategy and initiatives, ensuring that the JewishColumbus brand is synonymous with impactful communications, inspirational storytelling and visually compelling digital and print tactics. Her professional experience includes roles as a communications specialist, creative manager and an interactive project manager. Joanne leads with her passion for writing and design, as well as her expertise in the field of Jewish history and culture.
After completing her undergraduate studies at Brandeis University, Joanne received the German Bundestag’s International Parliamentary Scholarship at the Humboldt University of Berlin, and later earned her master’s degree from the New School for Social Research.
Having lived abroad in Berlin and Moscow, Joanne speaks fluent German and Russian. Growing up in Columbus, she spent many hours at the Ohio State ice rink training as a competitive figure skater. Currently, Joanne lives with her wife and elementary-school age son in Upper Arlington.
