Our grandparents were our greatest influence. They took us to synagogue, taught us about shabbos and the holidays; in essence they introduced us to the rich culture and tradition of our people. Sheila’s parents gave much of their time volunteering at their synagogue and held officer positions at all levels and Robert’s parents were generous to a fault. The closeness our grandparents shared with our families has guided us to a sense of Jewishness that we are now passing on to our children and grandchildren.
We made our gift to allow not only future Shapiros, but also the Jewish community at large to have the synagogues and other organizations available to them that we are so fortunate to have today.
In the spirit of Dor L’Dor, from One Generation to Another, we wish to set an example of tzedakah.
