What is the Lion of Judah?

Lion of Judah (LOJ) is an international group of philanthropic Jewish women who care deeply about the Jewish future and give a generous gift of, at minimum, $5,000. A diverse and dynamic group of women – 18,000 Lions of Judah worldwide – who care deeply about the Jewish future. Lions of Judah are leaders who inspire others to give back, strengthen the Jewish people, and make the world a better place for all.

The Pomegranate Society recognizes women who make a commitment of $1,800-$4999 to the Annual Campaign in their own name. One of the seven fruits named in the Bible, the pomegranate is said to contain 613 seeds, one for each of the mitzvot, or commandments, found in the Torah.
The Step Up to Lion of Judah is for women who aspire to be a Lion of Judah. To start your journey, make a commitment to increase your gift to the Annual Campaign for the next two or three years (depending on your current donation level), starting with a minimum gift of $1,800 for the first year and at least $5,000 for the final year.
The Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) is the planned giving component of the Lion of Judah program. A Lion of Judah creates a LOJE by establishing a minimum fund of $125,000 or more in her own name, ensuring the perpetuation of the Lion of Judah level Annual Campaign gift.
