About Millet Ben Haim
At 6:30 in the morning of Saturday, October 7th, the music stopped at the Nova Music Festival and was replaced by sirens warning of a rocket attack. The participants of the festival, who were expecting to watch the sunrise in a safe and loving environment, were instead greeted by a relentless barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip.
Despite the ensuing confusion, Millet was immediately urged to get her friends and herself out of danger and started preparing to leave the perimeter even before the first gunshots were heard. At the parking lot, they met with people who attempted to leave and were forced to run back when they encountered the terrorists that infiltrated the nearby border.
From that point onwards, everybody – including Millet and her friends – were forced into a desperate struggle for survival. Running for hours while being chased and shot at through the nearby fields, Millet eventually found a hiding place for her and her friends. There they hid, waiting for help to arrive. During that time they tried to contact their loved ones for help or, if worse came to worst, to say their goodbyes. After more than six long hours, they were found by citizens from the nearby village and were finally brought to safety.
