Please join JewishColumbus, Sukkat Shalom, and the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus for a special evening with the Anahata Collaborative Ensemble.
This Holocaust Remembrance concert program presents music and poetry by an array of composers and writers, most of whom perished in or survived the Holocaust of World War II. The program is unique as it presents works from not only acclaimed figures, such as Maurice Ravel and Elie Wiesel, but also from many whose names have faded into obscurity due to the oppression of the Nazi regime.
Through careful research and sensitivity to the extraordinary body of work left by these artists, Anahata has developed a program of readings and music to captivate and inspire audiences. The program aims to communicate a poignant and relevant message as it reminds one of the diverse minorities, in addition to Jews, who were persecuted and murdered. Finally, the program encourages a
renewed sense of purpose and justice as it recalls the brave spirits who risked their lives for those who suffered.
