Alla Gavrilova is hosting Polina Shepherd (Russia /UK) on Saturday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m., bringing a pre-CHANUKAH celebration to Columbus’s audience – a mixture of original, classical, and folk songs mainly in Yiddish and Russian, including a few world premieres.

Polina grew up in a Russian Jewish home where songs were frequently sung at celebrations. When living in Tatarstan and studying at the State Academy, she played Russia′s first Klezmer band after Perestroika, and toured the world with her own quartet. Now an internationally renowned singer, she brings the songs of the Steppes and the Shtetl up to date with passion and haunting soul. She has toured with her solo show Songs of the Steppes & the Shtetl in Russia, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Brazil.
