Leadership JewishColumbus is a premier leadership accelerator program designed to prepare and empower the next generation of Jewish leaders in the Columbus area.
Leadership Jewish Columbus (LJC) Cohort members gain firsthand exposure to the work of JewishColumbus’ partner agencies, develop practical board and leadership skills, deepen their understanding of Jewish values and ethics, and build meaningful relationships that extend well beyond the program itself.
At its core, LJC is about preparing and connecting the next generation of Jewish leaders. Participants leave with a stronger foundation for community involvement, a network of peers and mentors, and the confidence to step into leadership opportunities across our community.
This is a pivotal moment for Jewish life, and strong leadership has never been more important. Leadership JewishColumbus Cohort 5
Who You Are
- Between 25–45 years of age
- Have lived in Columbus for at least 2 years
- Have a demonstrated record of community service, involvement, and/or personal/professional leadership experience
- Are not currently employed as a Jewish communal professional
- Have the time, energy, and skills ready to commit to the Jewish community
Cohort Size & Cost
We aim to accept 20 fellows to this cohort.
This program is generously funded by JewishColumbus and has no program fee. Fellows are requested to make a personally meaningful donation to the JewishColumbus community campaign.

What You’ll Do
Attain Leadership Tools Rooted in Jewish Values
Learn tangible board and leadership skills, rooted in Jewish values and ethics, taught by experienced educators. Topics include:
- Adaptive Leadership & Change Management
- Your Personal Leadership Presence
- Effective Board Governance
- Conflict Resolution & Feedback Exchange
- Storytelling for Impact
- Cultivating a Culture of Philanthropy & Fundraising Techniques
- Understanding the Federation Ecosystem & Organized Jewish Community
- Assessing and Responding to Community Needs
Create Deep Relationships
You will bond with cohort members through informal experiences including a learning retreat, Shabbat meals, and other social opportunities throughout the year.
Joining LJC welcomes you to the alumni network of past cohorts, connecting you to over 70 committed leaders across the community.
Meeting with agency leaders prepares you for communal service by creating relationships that can foster future lay leadership at those organizations and continued partnership with leaders from other organizations.
Time Commitment
Leadership JewishColumbus follows the academic calendar, meeting ten times approximately once per month, adjusted for holidays. It also includes a starting retreat.
