Sue is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, a Certified Diabetes Educator/Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and a Certified Insulin Pump Trainer. Sue has also run her own private Nutrition/Diabetes Education practice specializing in the treatment of diabetes and eating disorders and authored six books, published articles in multiple journals, and presented at numerous conferences, symposia, and universities across the country. In 2002, Sue, along with her husband, and 2 daughters, moved to the Chicago area from Columbus. She became active in the Chicago Jewish Federation in 2005, chairing the annual Walk for Israel. That same year, she became a Lion of Judah while on a family bar/bat mitzvah Israel mission sponsored by JUF. In 2010, she was elected to the Women’s Philanthropy Board of JUF which last year raised over $16 million in women’s only gifts. She served on the Executive Board of the Woman’s Board for 4 years as the Vice President for Community Outreach and Engagement. Sue moved back to Ohio in 2019 where she lives with her husband. Over the past year she has served on the Women’s Philanthropy Committee and was asked to Co-Chair the 2019 Lion of Judah Event, which had the highest attendance in the last five years! She also serves on the JewishColumbus Life & Legacy Committee, the Community Response Fund Committee and attended the 2020 Heart2Heart Mission.
